Crete Island, 2021
This was my second time in the island and I was there working at the excavation site of Κουμάσα. In one of my free days, I took a 20 Km long hike towards the southernmost part of central Crete. Before my descent into the Canyons that lead the sea, I saw this peak, with several cutmarks in it.
Monti Reatini, 2021
In the same year, I hiked the Monti Reatini. It was a pleasant late spring day, and most of the ice had already melt. At a certain point I spotted a group of animals drinking from a pond formed by the melted ice. After sitting there for at least one hour observing the animals, I continued to the spot where I pitched my tent, at Cima Ultima (2000 m.a.s.l.)

LENÇÓIS MARANHENSES, 2025
An otherworldly place located in the northern coast of the Maranhão state in Brazil. The "Lençóis Maranhenses" owns its name to its peculiar landscape composed of sand dunes and lagoons. During the rain season the lagoons fill up and create this very unique scenery. It is without a doubt, one of the most unique places I have ever visited.

One of my favorite hikes in the surroundings of Rome is located within Monte Catillo natural reserve. This photo from the Aniene river valley was taken in the sunrise.

Bardonecchia, 2021
In 2021 I went for the first time to the small winter town of Bardonecchia, past the Val di Susa and near the French border. The hike up until the border is quite pleasant although always steep. I took this picture while we were waiting for out small bottles of champagne to cool down buried in snow.

Carpathians, 2022
Near the village of Rača, Slovakia; there is a hiking trail through the Carpathians range. I took this photograph of a forest patch in one of my many hikes in that area.
Sardinia, 2023
Back to the endless island, I visited the 'Spiaggia Rei' beach. It is famous for it's salt lagoon and flamingos. At that time the lake was dry and the salt crystalized in the sand created some interesting shapes and patterns when seen from above.

I am always amazed by central Europe landscapes and the weather dynamics we don't see much in the Mediterranean. On the left, we see the vineyards in Rača during winter, while on the right, a breathtaking view from the High Tatras in central Slovakia that rewards the drivers going through the highway.
